Sleep

Reverie

For evenings when the mind feels loud and the body feels held.

Night sky and botanicals for the hour before sleep
I.

The hour the mind finally lets go.

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that does not announce itself until you lie down, when the body stops and the mind does not. The thoughts that did not have space in the day find space in the dark. Sleep becomes something to manage rather than something to fall into.

Reverie is for that hour. The botanicals in this blend are old companions of quiet evenings, chosen not for what they promise but for what they have always done. Slow the breath. Soften the grip. Let the night be night.

The Practice
01 Apply to the wrists and temples
02 Breathe in before your head meets the pillow
03 Leave the day at the door
The botanicals behind Reverie: lavender, chamomile, sweet orange
II.

The quiet of the plant world.

Lavender has been beside the sleepless for as long as there have been sleepless nights. It does not force rest. It lowers the threshold. Sweet orange opens something in the chest that the day had closed. Frankincense reaches deeper still; ancient and resinous, it carries the nervous system into a register it rarely finds before midnight.

Chamomile and bergamot complete the evening, soft and unhurried, the final notes before the body agrees to let go. These are not sedatives. They are an invitation. The body already knows how to rest. These botanicals help it remember the way.

Sleep becomes something to manage rather than something to fall into. Reverie is for the hour between.
